Held at Audreys
Apologies Julia( now more affectionately known as Camilla or Clip Clop!!!!!)
A bit of a hard act to follow after such a resounding success at our Royal Wedding Meeting, the subjects were a bit out of control, sos much so that even Audrey had a bit of trouble controlling them, Order , Order!!!!
BOOK REVIEW
Our book reveiwed after being read by a total of 3 members, going for a record of non compliance. The Book was The Tall Man and is actually created quite a bit of topical discussion, Gaye strongly recommended reading it if you have not done so,
It was a very interesting and at the same time sad overview of life for the aboriginals based on Palm Island which is just off the coast of Queensland, it particularly highlighted the lack of a voice that the general population of the island have when it comes to the authorities, a situation not solely happening on Palm Island where aborigines are concerned.
GENERAL BUSINESS
Audrey has a new do, everyone loved it!!
We had a fashion parade of sorts, Leonie creating a new back to front look for Susans Fat Back Jacket, a sure winner on the catwalk.
Leonie was made the treasurer for our new founded charity tin( jas /whatever)It was decided that you can contribute whatever amount you feel like on the night of the meeting ( or not) and at the end of the year we will all put a name of a charity into a bowl and select one charity that we can support, Susie has also suggested she can do it on her behalf throuhg her workplace and they will double the offering.
Jill is to get a copy of the photos for us .
Movie Night
Our next Meeting will be held on Tuesday 21st at Cinema Europa at Southland where we will be viewing the new movie Oranges and Sunshine, a stellar cast along with a very topical subject matter which can be discussed in length over an aperitf in one of the bars after the movie
